People have been worried about giving away Aadhar number lately. With all those hypes concerning about the data privacy, people are worried that Aadhar data might be misused or stolen. Well, for those there is an alternative in the form of Aadhar Virtual ID(VID).
What is Aadhar Virtual ID?
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) lets users download a ‘masked’ e-Aadhaar card, that comes with a Virtual Aadhaar ID (VID).
The Virtual ID can be easily used to authenticate your Aadhaar, without having to reveal your Aadhaar number.
The UIDAI, in a statement issued in January, said that one’s Aadhaar number cannot be derived from the VID that is generated. The virtual ID can be used for the purpose of authentication in the same way the Aadhaar number is used.
