A study which was carried out by Yoshihiko Koga, a professor at Kyorin University, Tokoyo, says that eating ice cream as your breakfast can actually boost your mental performance during the day. There were a series of clinical expirements carried out by Koga during which participants were asked to eat ice-cream first thing in the morning and then take certain digital mental exercises.

Koga then compared the result of the test with people who had not eaten ice-cream. The result shows who had consumed ice-cream first thing in the morning had got better reaction time compared to people who had not. The result also indicates that the ice-cream had boosted information processing capabilities. People who had ice cream in the morning were found to be at a better alertness and less mental frustration.

However, Koga is still trying to figure out what exactly is in ice-cream that causes improved mental performances. Some critics feels, that it’s just glucose hit that boosts brain function and activates happy zones in the brain.
