The Flat Earth Theory was gaining popularity day by day, and this time NASA has come forward with something quite astonishing and successfully debunked the flat earth theory by taking a picture of the earth by a satellite one mile away. The spectacular image captured by an EPIC camera(Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera) mounted on DSCOVR(Deep Space Climate Observatory)satellite of NOAA revealed that the earth is a sphere.
From the distance of one million miles, the camera on DSCOVR can observe the earth from sunrise to sunset. This camera usually captures an average of one image over every summer, and one photo over every two hours in winter.
Alexander Marshak who is the deputy project manager of Deep Space Climate Observatory mission said, “Given EPIC’s special vantage point and frequent observations, we are able to observe the daytime portion of the daily cycle of many phenomena. For example, EPIC can follow a volcanic eruption or a fire plume during the entire day. These measurements complement those taken by other low Earth-orbiting satellites, which view a particular location less often, in many cases only once or twice per day.”
However, some flat earth theorist are still claiming that these earth images from NASA are not original and are computer generated. According to them the South Pole is the border of the earth. These theorists also claim that governments all across the world are building their military bases on the South pole after realizing that the earth is completely flat.
Interestingly many known personalities and celebrities like former England cricketer Andrew Flintoff and others are strong supporters of flat earth theory.
